CSR Scaffolding Services is a proud, Barnsley-based company with a dedicated team of scaffolders behind every job. From Victorian churches to family homes, we provide access that is safe, considered and quietly exemplary, throughout the whole of Yorkshire.
The roofers have been booked.

When access fails, everything waits: the trades, the programme and the budget. It is the most avoidable delay in construction, and it happens far more often than it should.
Our standard
It is a simple principle, and we hold to it on every commission, whether the property is a terraced house in Barnsley or a church in Sheffield.
The date we agree is the date we attend, so your trades can plan around it with complete confidence.
Brickwork and adjoining surfaces are protected wherever the scaffold meets them, and anything moved in the garden is carefully returned.
Once the work is complete, the scaffold is dismantled promptly and the site is swept and left precisely as we found it.
Anchors are pull tested with our own equipment, so your scaffold can be signed off without waiting on a third party.
Fully insured, with a risk assessment and method statement prepared for every job.
Our work
Full-perimeter scaffolds with edge protection and a secured site from the very first day, so that every trade can work safely and without interruption.
Chimneys, gables and bay windows reached with care, the scaffold designed around the character of the building and protected wherever the two meet.
Fully sheeted, roofed where required and fitted with a debris chute, so the weather stays out, the dust stays in, and the neighbours are scarcely aware we are there.

The greater part of our work comes through recommendation: clients who return, and the friends, neighbours and contractors they have told. We are based in Barnsley and work throughout Yorkshire, including Sheffield, Leeds, Wakefield, Bradford, Halifax and Harrogate.
Our founder
CSR was founded by Carl, an advanced scaffolder with more than twenty-six years of experience across every aspect of the industry, from domestic and commercial projects to industrial work.
More than a quarter of a century on sites of every kind taught him what customers value most: a scaffold that arrives when promised, is built with care, and leaves the property exactly as it was found. He built CSR around that standard, and every member of the team works to it today.
It is also the reason for the words on every one of our site boards: work safe, work smart.

Every project is different, so the hire period is agreed with you at the quotation stage and priced around the needs of your job.
The scaffold can remain in place for as long as you need it. Beyond the agreed hire period, each additional week is charged at 5% of the hire, together with the cost of any inspection visits.
We aim to have our team on site within a fortnight of your quotation being accepted, and often sooner.
A scaffold for a standard semi-detached house is typically erected in a single day. Larger and more complex projects are planned and timed individually.
We arrange any licence required from the local council on your behalf, and the cost of the licence is added to your invoice.
We never build on a neighbouring property without permission. We are happy to seek that permission on your behalf, or you may prefer to speak to your neighbour yourself.
Yes. Every site visit and quotation is provided free of charge and without obligation.
Yes. We hold £10 million public liability insurance, and a risk assessment and method statement is prepared for every job.
Every scaffold is inspected before it is handed over, and you receive a handover certificate. From that point, ongoing inspections become the responsibility of the client, though we are happy to carry them out for you at an agreed rate.
Yes. Pull testing of the ties is included in the original price. Should a test fail, we will reassess the approach with you before the work continues.
Payment is made by bank transfer once you have received our invoice. On some projects, payment is requested once the scaffold has been erected.
Yes. Weekend working is available where a project requires it, and we also provide an emergency call-out service.
